The historical city of Tipaza is one of the seven Algerian places listed in Unesco’s world heritage. It was founded by Phoenicians to use it as a trading station which made it an important place in the world; it is also one of the most famous Roman cities in North Africa. The current name of Tipaza is the same one it got famous with during the Roman presence. Tipaza is situated on the Mediterranean coast in the west, about 70 km away from Algiers, it is also one of the most visited places by both Algerian and foreign tourists.

After the Fatimid Dynasty emerged and eradicated the reign of the countries in Africa the fatimid army took over Tiart who was founded by the rostomian and made it the capital of their state.
